They're one of the first BM bands i got into and recently I've been going back through all of their past albums and i wanted to know what you guys think is the best release to you, and of course what you think was the worstHere are my personal picks from best to worst1.

    Album

Panzerfaust (basically started it all for me, love the atmosphere)2. Transilvanian Hunger3. Under A Funeral Moon4. A Blaze In The Northern Sky5.

    The Underground Resistance6. Soulside Journey7. Sardonic Wrath8.

Ravishing Grimness10. The Cult Is Alive12. Total Death13.

Circle The Wagons14. Dark Thrones And Black Flags15. GoatlordJust note that its not like i hate the lower albums on this list, i just think theyre really weak considering their pioneering BM albums. What are your personal favorite albums?. The recent crust/punk stuff is great just because you can tell Fenriz is having such a good time playing it, and that comes through, but the older stuff certainly stands in a different category, and I think A Blaze in the Northern Sky is by far the best.

Transilvanian Hunger is important for its contribution to the genre, but Blaze has some fantastically well-arranged tracks that are really dynamic and easy to get lost in. Enough change in the tone, mood and riffs to keep the listener interested, whereas I start to zone out halfway through Transilvanian Hunger.
